Earagail Arts Festival, 2009
We hosted a Visual Artists Ireland Info Clinic with their Western Representative Aideen Barry; conducted guided local artists studio tours and held the third annual Féile Soilsí Thoraí on Tory Island!
Féile Soilsí Thoraí - The Festival this year was a huge success once more - with the weather even keeping up its end of the bargain too!
Visitors and locals were treated to performances from Kila, Over & Out, The Clubmen, The Fanzini Brothers as well the rich cultural performers young and old from the Island itself. One of the highlights this year was an even bigger currach race than years before - won by brothers Josie and Seamus Doohan in the restored boat their grandfather handed down to them, and given their grandmother's name.
The festival received national press including a lovely article on the currach race appears in the Irish Times by Ruadhán MacCormaic.
An Gailearaí wishes to extend huge thanks to everyone who made this year's festival such a success; including...
The people of Tory
Paul, Celine & Edel & Earagail Arts Staff
Ealaín na Gaeltachta
Mary & Úna in the Café
Colm Joe & Staff

...The Festival would not have been possible without you!
