A Donegal Photo Album
Mhairéad Ní Mhaonaighis renowned internationally as one of Ireland's leading musicians. Together with her band Altan, she has played the music of donegal with pride on stages thoughout the world. This exhibition looks at Mhairéad's remarkable life in music viewed though her own personal archive of photographs.

Organised as part of Tradfest 2015, the exhibition presents a broad range of photographs, which take you behind the scenes and give an insight into a childhood steeped in unique musical tradition of county Donegal. On show are a selection of images by photographers Colm Hogan and Edáin Ní Dhomhnaill who have worked closely with Mhairéad; promotional photographs by photographers such as Tom Byrn charting Mhairéad's career with altan and musical collaborations with leading irish and international musicians; private family photographs featuring her father Francie, brother to Gearóid,sister Anna and mother Kitty, and an edited selection of archival press cuttings, carefully collated by Kitty, which chart her impressive career. Áit i mo Chroí a full leanth documentary made by Ciarán Ó Maonaigh for TG4 about his grandfather grandfather Francie Mooney is also featured.
